Dr. McClelland received his BS in Zoology from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. From there he went to receive his MD at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. His internship was spent at LSU Medical Center as well where he eventually went on to become the Chief Resident in Orthopedic Surgery. Parts of Dr. McClelland's residency were spent at the Veterans Medical Center in Shreveport, LA, as well as at the Shriner's Hospital in Tampa, FL. Dr. McClelland's publications include "Biomechanical evaliotions for synthetic cast materials" and "Progressive diaphyseal dysplasia presenting as a neuromuscular disease".
